My Haircare Regime

image

I have been rocking my ‘fro for about two years now. And it’s presently below shoulder blades length. As I wrote in the previous hair post, water is basically my hair secret. Drinking lots of water and moisturising. However, it is not the only thing I use for my hair.

I do a lot of protective styling, and I avoid manipulating my hair too much. Protective styling protects my hair from the sun, breakage etc. To make the protective styling work me, I do not neglect my hair while rocking these styles as that would be detrimental.

I use black soap to wash my hair. I use various natural product like banana, egg, milk, mayonnaise, palm oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil, honey, onion, ginger, garlic, castor oil, lavender oil to deep condition. It doesn’t mean I mix all these, but I have used every of the above mentioned at some point.

I mix any organic ingredients based on my hair need as they all have different uses. For example egg for protein. Please note that only protein that has been hydrolyzed can repair damaged hair. I moisturise with water and seal with an oil, mostly coconut oil. As it is light and the only oil that can try to moisturise the hair.

And I try my best to eat healthy, because in order to have that glorious crown, what you eat goes a long way. Foods like meat, green vegetables, egg, beans, onions are superb for hair health and growth.
