NITC 15 (Natural Hair MeetUp)

I went for a natural hair meet up on Saturday, NITC (Naturals In The City) 15. Although we started late and I could not get beeswax, it was lovely. We had three wonderful women as speakers.

The first speaker was Dr Bode Otekunrin. Her topic was a holistic approach to personal health and longevity. She talked about healthy eating habits like how spring water is the absolute best and how preservatives make one fat. She also said fasting from time to time is great for our system. She mentioned cervical cancer, the dangers and how multiple sexual partners call lead to it.

The second speaker was Iheoma Obibi whose topic was talking to teens about sex and sexuality. She talked about the ways about being honest to children about sex. Teaching them sex education, having “the talk” with them.

The last was Yellow Sisi who talked about protective styling. She said fixing is a no-no because it starves the hair of air. The best protective styling is one that keeps your ends moisturised and tucks away your ends.
