Hibiscus Cooked Yam (zobo yam) and Peppered Chicken Stew Recipe

I didn’t plan to post the recipe of this meal because it seems strange but it is delicious, I promise. The idea of this food came when I had extra hibiscus tea and decided to make good use of it. And like most of my recipes, it is very easy to make, specially created for the busy and lazy. 😎


  • Yam
  • Chicken
  • Hibiscus tea/drink (zobo)
  • Palm oil
  • Scotch bonnet peppers
  • Onions
  • Salt
  • Rosemary


▶Boil the chopped chicken breasts with rosemary and salt, boil with little water as you won’t be needing the water. Sieve out the water when boiled.

▶Slice yam and boil with hibiscus tea or alternatively boil with the leaves.

▶Heat the palm oil and add chopped scotch bonnet peppers and onions. Stir for 3 minutes and add the boiled chicken. This should simmer for another 3 minutes and it is ready!
