Achieving An Amazing and Fulfilling Year

I love how the beginning of the year gives you the idea of a fresh start, the opportunity to re-strategize and reach your goals. I adore beginnings, birthdays more than new years because of how personal it is but it’s hard not to get caught up in the new year bubble. This post is to share my insights on how to have a rewarding year, so we don’t end up feeling lost when it’s time to reflect on the year.

1. Create a vision board

A vision board is merely visualizing your goals and aspirations through a collage of pictures, inspirational images and quotes, and affirmations that best exemplifies it.

2. Draw up an action plan

The first time I heard this, I was quite confused. Why do I need one after a vision board? An action plan allows you to write out comprehensive steps needed to achieve the goal you have visualised.

3. Create A Morning And Evening Routine

Having a constant ritual can help set the tone for want we want to achieve in a year. Establishing a calming versus a hectic can influence our day/week/month/year.

4. Practice Self Care

This is very important, you need to be healthy to function, much less achieve anything. Try to eat healthy, or “healthish” at least. There are lots of recipes on this blog to help you get started. Sleep well, take good care of yourself, pay attention to your body, reward yourself. Pour love into you to flourish.

5. Connect With Loved Ones

Humans are social beings, connecting with people who appreciate and value us can help us boost our confidence and strengthens relationships.

6. Get An Accountability Partner

Having someone who can check in with up and make sure you are not slacking off is priceless. Even if you want to keep your plan secret, giving someone a rough idea and when to check in with you will go a long way in ensuring you don’t give up.

7. Single or Double Task rather than Multiple Task

Trying to do too much at the same time will leave you exhausted and unfocused rather than efficient. Prioritize your goals and take them one step at a time.

8. Relax

I’m glad a lot of people now realize how important it is to take time off and recharge or reflect. Without this, burnout is inevitable.

9. Pray

Connecting with God and praying about my goals has helped me immensely. I have avoided wasting time and effort by simply surrendering everything to God. It may feel weird, leaving your life plans to a being you can’t see but God is omnipresent, you have to believe and trust. Sometimes just giving gratitude to God can set certain things in perspective.

10. Find time For A Hobby

Life always gets in the way but we always need something to unwind It doesn’t have to be elaborate. It could be as simple as drawing or watching your favourite movie genre once a week.

11. Learn Something New

The biggest investment we can make is in our selves. Learn new skills relevant to your area of expertise or a new language. Be curious, open your mind and be ready to learn.

12. Less Internet

I didn’t know how much time the internet stile from me until I disabled pop up notifications and activated time limit on Instagram and Facebook. WhatsApp is what I still struggle with because of the convenient messaging but I’m working on it.
