I am writing this post with faith, believing there is an end to the current pandemic and people will want to go out after it is all over. For my second dine out of the year, before social distancing was required in Nigeria, I decided to go to Zolene Restaurant in Ikoyi. I got invited to their menu tasting. Unlike Eko Hotel, I’ve eaten in Zolene before and the experience was great but I notice they totally took off old options from their new menu and that broke my heart.
.Last week was my passing out parade! From July last year till now, I have been serving my country through a scheme called NYSC.
Every Nigerian graduate is forced into a regimented camp for 3 weeks in different parts of the country and has to work most times without pay or with very little in the state deployed to, after camp for a year. Nysc involves Nigerian graduates below 30 years dedicating a year after graduation to serving the country.
I am running late to work today, for some reason, my alarm didn’t notify me. As I stand at the bus stop, I contemplate between taking a motorcycle to work or braving the traffic. I chose the latter, as I see a bus conductor shouting the fare at a cheaper rate. Like the proper Lagos girl I am, I clutch my bag properly and fight my way onto the bus.
